The exhibition 'Kawaii - crafting the Japanese culture of cute' brings together 15 Japanese artists who are using traditional craft skills to translate, comment upon and engage with all aspects of Kawaii.

Minako Nishiyama begins her Artist in Residence at UCA Farnham during which she will create her sugar installation for the exhibition. During her residency she will give a presentation about her work and run a workshop.

'Kawaii as a button' seminar organised in collaboration with the Japan Foundation in London.
Artists Minako Nishiyama, Mitusuo Toyazaki and the duo Gendai-bijutsu nitouhei talk about their work and their views about the culture of kawaii. the event is Chaired by Professor Simon Olding, Director of the Crafts Study Centre at UCA.
The event will run from 6pm - 8pm in London at Kensington Town Hall

Be inspired by our Kawaii exhibition, and create cute Easter bunnies and chicks with a fluffy pom pom tummy, exploring the traditional techniques.

Make yourown character brooch with Kawaii features and designs inspired by the exhibition.
Nail Artist will create Kawaii nail art on visitors.
